Why Inclusive Feminism?

Feminism is regarded here as a gender compass to illuminate the way forward to a more fulfilling and inclusive society.

The hope is that this initiative will contribute to the goal of inclusiveness by addressing cross cultural, intergenerational, inter-faith, gender, accessibility and point of view issues for women. This site will act as a springboard and portal to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, experience and perspective from one group, individual or organisation to another.

This site will provide a space to democratise and aire the voices of feminism and move away from stereotypes and subdivisions that serve only to disconnect and divide. The primary way we change the world is how we relate to other people and how we communicate. This site will open the channels of dialogue and question the limitations of the status quo that serves to perpetuate misunderstanding. The vista of this perspective will cross boundaries in a spirit of celebration and commemoration.

Inclusive feminism incorporates a 'both/and' approach to viewing gender and aims to defy partial positions by a more inclusive community of inquiry.

Inclusive feminism challenges the assumptions of backing one approach at the expense of the other and aims to broaden the focus of our metaphorical thinking.

However, inclusive feminism recognises that violence, education, pay, health and equity are impacted by the power structures built upon the rigid mechanisms of patriarchy that value adrocentric policies, which in many ways serve the health and welfare of men, women and children alike in a negative and harmful manner.

Inclusive feminism is beneficent and logical to the welfare of human beings, our economies, a drive towards non-warfare and the care of ecology.

We will cut through objectivism and demonstrate that feminism in fact develops interesting paradigms, transforms and invigorates the landscape, and produces innovations to thinking and acting that are life enhancing and life affirming.

Aims of Inclusive Feminism

Inclusive feminism is a new initiative that aims to promote accomplished collaboration in the arena of knowledge and empowerment for women, children and society.

The aim is to integrate and share the wealth of knowledge and experience of women individually and in organisations in a manner that is first rate and which recognises the value of feminist enquiry, experience and knowledge.

Vision of Inclusive Feminism

· To create a nucleus, which will make a major contribution to the sharing and development of knowledge, for the coming together of women.
· To strengthen systems of exchange and knowledge to enhance the lives of individuals and the institutions and communities in which we live and work.
· To promote the value of feminist enquiry towards building a humanist frame.

Objectives of Inclusive Feminism

1. To initiate an integrated network for women with interests in the well being of women, children and communities.

3. To produce a group of talented women who will further enhance and explore novel applications of feminism and feminist thought in culture.

4. To develop robust partnerships and collaborations for the enhancement of women's well being across health, education, industrial and commercial sectors.

5. To establish mechanisms for knowledge exchange through major partnerships and syndicates.

6. To provide a platform whereby disparate groups can communicate across barriers of class, abilities, ethnicity, age and gender and between religions, faiths and political affiliations.

Please develop these aims with your suggestions. Thank you!

"When women are fully involved, the benefits can be seen immediately: families are healthier; they are better fed; their income, savings, and reinvestment go up. And what is true of families is true of communities and, eventually, of whole countries."

(Quote from the former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan , 2004, Meeting Global Challenges: Healthy Women, Healthy World)
